McCALL -- Brundage Mountain Resort in McCall has received nine inches of fresh snow in the past 24 hours.

Resort officials say two inches of snow fell prior to 5 p.m. Wednesday, with an additional 7 inches falling by Thursday morning.

The resort now has a 9-inch base both at the summit and in the base area. The resort needs at least twice that much to open for the season.

“Generally, we need at least 18 inches in the base area and 24-36 inches of snow on the summit in order to be able to prep our slopes for opening,” said resort spokesperson April Russell. “That said, we are very excited to see the beginnings of our base here on the mountain.”
