GARDEN CITY, Idaho -- Traffic delays scheduled to begin Monday have been put on hold due to weather concerns.
Ada County Highway District crews planned to begin resurfacing the bridge on Veteran's Memorial Parkway between State Street and Chinden Boulevard in Garden City on Monday. The rain and forecast for the week caused ACHD to wait until there is a streak of dryer weather.
Two additional bridges are also getting resurfaced in May. One is the Americana Bridge between Americana Terrace and Shoreline Drive. Work on that bridge will stretch from May 7 to May 10. Crews will also work on the Orchard Street Bridge between Wright Street and Victory Road. Work there will be from May 14 to May 17.
The three bridges with be resurfaced with a heavy duty overlay to help preserve and extend their lifespan.
When the projects resume, crews will work during the day during the week and will work on half of the bridge at a time. Motorists can expect traffic delays, construction noise, large trucks and equipment, traffic control barrels and signs and lane restrictions.
