BOISE -- Along with fall weather comes falling leaves, and a potential mess.

Ada County Highway District crews are sweeping about 20 truckloads of leaves a day from the tree-lined streets of north Boise.

They can take care of leaves that naturally fall onto the street, but ACHD is asking you to not rake your leaves into big piles on roadways or alleys.

Those leaves can clog gutters and storm drains, which can lead to flooding.

The City of Boise is offering free leaf recycling from Nov. 2 to Dec. 4.

Eagle and Garden City have similar programs.

A curbside program for unincorporated areas of Ada County runs from Nov. 2 through Nov. 13.

You can also take leaves and grass to the Hidden Hollow Landfill between now and Dec. 19.
