Boise receives $1 million anonymous donation to buy Foothills land

BOISE -- An anonymous donor has given $1 million to help the city of Boise buy more than 1,300 acres of land, including the Stack Rock formation in the Foothills west of Bogus Basin Road.
The Boise City Council today voted to accept the donation, and will also use some money collected from the Foothills levy to buy the land from the Terteling family.
Since voters approved that levy in 2001, the city has spent about half of the $10 million collected.
