CAMBRIDGE, Idaho -- A Boise man who wanted a cup of Joe is now in jail after Washington County authorities say he used phony money to make his purchase.

William Hanson was arrested last Tuesday for using a counterfeit $50 bill to buy a cup of coffee at the Roundup Coffee Shop in Cambridge.

Police say Hanson had four more counterfeit $50 bills in his possession.

He was booked into the Washington County Jail and is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Hanson also has felony warrants out of Washington state.

The Valley County Sheriff's Office has received two reports of people using counterfeit money at businesses in McCall and Valley County.  They say the same group went into Adams and Washington counties where Hanson was arrested.

Local law enforcement agencies are working with U.S. Secret Service is this ongoing investigation. More arrests are expected.
