MERIDIAN -- A new entertainment center at the corner of Idaho's busiest intersection opened its doors today.

Big Al's bowling alley and restaurant is the first business to open in The Village -- a development at the intersection of Eagle Road and Fairview Avenue. The complex is part of the future Meridian Town Center development.

Big Al's offers 42 state-of-the-art bowling lanes, a stadium-style sports bar and grill with a 55-foot screen, arcade games and a SkyBox Lounge that overlooks the entire center.

Officials told us in June they planned to hire around 175 full and part-time workers.

Big Al's also operates entertainment centers in Vancouver, Wash., and Beaverton, Ore.

Based on some Facebook postings today, many of the people that attended the grand opening really enjoyed themselves.
