BOISE -- Boise Police officers are looking for a man who robbed a west Boise bank this morning near the intersection of Emerald Street and Maple Grove Road.
It happened around 10:49 a.m. at the Bank of the West branch at 9140 W. Emerald Street # 100.
The male suspect came into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. He said he had a weapon but never showed one during the robbery.
Sgt. Randy Buzzini says the suspect was Hispanic, possibly in his 60s, spoke Spanish, is about 5-foot, 11-inches tall and has salt and pepper hair and a mustache. He wore Levi jeans, a baseball cap, a hooded sweatshirt and white tennis shoes. He was carrying an Albertsons bag.
Witnesses said the man walked with a hunch.
The bank is right around the corner from the Boise Police station at City Hall West. Buzzini says officers were on scene quickly. The suspect fled on foot behind the bank, jumped a fence and got away along a canal bank. Officers combed the area but failed to locate him.
Boise Police released a surveillance photo of the suspect hoping someone has seen him or can identify the suspect.
Anyone with information about this man is urged to call 911 immediately, or 343-COPS.
