BOISE -- In midst of all these school budget cuts, the Hawthorne Elementary School in Boise got a huge donation Thursday for students and their families.
Albertsons on Vista Avenue donated $2,000 in food donations and school supplies that the kids were eager to unwrap.
The store’s director says a surplus of school supplies was found in a storage area, and they wanted to make sure they got put to good use. Those supplies included crayons, markers, pencils, rulers and reams of paper.
Albertsons also provided $400 in gift cards to support school families struggling with food security.
