BOISE – A Star man has pleaded guilty to possessing sexually explicit images of minors.
According to the plea agreement reached with federal prosecutors, deputies began an investigation after a 10-year-old girl reported that 68-year-old Michael Angus had engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with her while her family was visiting at Angus' home on Oct. 30, 2011.
The girl’s parents also expressed concern for another child, an 8-year-old girl who often spent time alone with Angus at his home. The girl told police of inappropriate contact by Angus, and said he had taken pictures of her dancing, posing nude and in the bathtub.
Deputies obtained a search warrant and found child pornography at Angus’ home, including sexually explicit images of the 8-year-old girl, whom he cared for over a period of years. Investigators also found hundreds of images of others minors that had been downloaded from the Internet. Some of the children were as young as two years old.
Angus admitted engaging in sexual contact or other sexual behavior with seven females, age 10 or younger.
According to the plea agreement, both parties have agreed to recommend that Angus serve 10 years in prison without the possibility of parole, plus a lifetime of supervised released.
His sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 1 at the federal courthouse in Boise.
