BOISE -- The Boise River is full of attractions and now a new trail will be named for a prominent Boise woman.

In addition to Ann Morrison Park, Julia Davis Park and other landmarks -- the city today dedicated the new "Bethine Church Trail."

The walking-only trail runs near Parkcenter Boulevard and features an undeveloped stretch of river path right in the heart of the city.

The trail's namesake says she is humbled.

"It makes you feel like you've been very blessed. And I've fought for civic things all my life. And it's sort of like getting a little applause at the end - whether you deserve it or not, it makes you feel so wonderful," Bethine Church said.

Church and her late husband Frank dedicated their public life to preservation. Boise Mayor Dave Bieter says that is what makes Bethine Church deserving of this honor.
