BOISE -- The Idaho Board of Health and Welfare will discuss whether to add swine flu to the state's reportable disease list and review licensing rules for mental health and detox centers during a meeting on Monday.
A mental health and detox center is being built in Boise, but because it is a new type of facility for the state, officials are working to create rules on construction standards, policies and procedures for services and staff qualification requirements.
The board will also consider whether to update Idaho's Reportable Disease list by adding novel influenza viruses like swine flu. The move could help the state provide surveillance of infections like swine flu.
The meeting is set for Monday morning at the Pete Cenarrusa Building in Boise's Capitol Mall.
