BOISE -- A burglary suspect is in the Ada County Jail today after an alert police officer spotted a suspicious man carrying a large plastic garbage around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Upon further investigation, police say the bag was found to contain items that had just been stolen from a nearby coffee shop.
Kriss K. Williams III, 27, of Boise, has been charged with felony burglary.
An officer patrolling near the grounds of Capitol High School saw a man carrying a large plastic garbage bag. When the man saw the officer, he dropped the bag and continued walking.
The suspect was found to be in possession of a hammer and a screw driver. The Oasis Coffee Shop had a broken window, and after investigating, officers found the suspect had just burglarized the coffee shop. In the plastic bag was a lap top, Red Bull drinks, and a carton of milk.
"This is a good example of an alert, heads up patrol officer. It's truly the kind of policing that our officers do all the time, and in this case, nabbed a burglary suspect," said Boise Police Sgt. Randy Buzzini.
Detectives do not believe this burglary or suspect is connected to any others under investigation.
