MERIDIAN -- Roaring Springs Waterpark in Meridian announced the name of its newest waterslide today.
Thunder Falls Family Raft Ride will send riders flying down a straight, steep slide with three big bumps. The new slide is being built off the same tower as existing family raft ride, and will be ready to ride on opening day -- May 16, 2009.
Last summer Roaring Springs held a Name the Ride Contest and received almost 1,000 entries.
The winning name, Thunder Falls, was submitted by two different people, Scott Burnett of Boise, and Darel Grauberger of Nampa. Both will receive four season passes, and will be the first to ride the new slide on opening day.
"We chose a new raft ride because our guests love multiple rider attractions, where they can all experience the fun together," says Roaring Springs' marketing director Tiffany Quilici. " Treasure Valley families have been so supportive of Roaring Springs over the past ten years; we wanted to give everyone a big new attraction as a great big thank you."
Roaring Springs Waterpark is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the addition of the new waterslide next summer.
