Power restored to thousands in Nampa, Caldwell

CALDWELL -- Thousands of customers were left in the dark Monday morning after Idaho Power experienced a major outage.

As of  9:24 a.m., approximately 4,000 customers were without power. One resident told KTVB the outage at her home started around 7 a.m.

Areas affected by the outage stretched from South Indiana Avenue to Chicken Dinner Road, and from Linden Road to Marsing Road. Vallivue High School and parts of Highway 55 were also affected.

Idaho Power officials said that by 12:17 p.m. , electricity had been restored to all but about 40 customers in the area of Homedale Road and Indiana Avenue. It's unclear when the lights will be back on for those last few dozen people.

Drivers should treat any intersection where traffic signals are not functioning as a four-way stop.
