4.9 earthquake rattles Challis, tremors reported in Boise, McCall, Mountain Home

BOISE - The US geological Survey reports a 4.9 magnitude earthquake hit 7 kilometers east of Challis Idaho at 10:44 Saturday.

Dozens of calls and emails flooded the KTVB newsroom with reports from residents feeling tremors from that quake.

Some said they felt it in Boise's North End, in Eagle, Cascade, McCall and near Fairview Avenue in Boise.

USGS reports the exact location of the quake is 44.504°N 114.136°W depth=8.2km (5.1mi) and that tremors could be felt in Boise, Garden City, Mountain Home and Eagle.

So far, KTVB has not received any reports of damages from the earthquake, but many have reported feeling furniture move and hearing things rattle.
