NAMPA -- Police and sheriff's deputies have peacefully resolved a standoff situation in Nampa.
Just before 10 a.m. bomb squad and SWAT team members were called to a home near Orchard Avenue and Middleton Road.
Officers on scene told KTVB a man had barricaded himself inside and was refusing to come out. Officers didn't specify if the man had a weapon or why he was being sought by police.
The man eventually surrendered to police, who did not arrest him after questioning, said Canyon County Public Information Officer Joe Decker.
"They were able to make contact with the subject that barricaded himself inside the house," Decker said.
Nearby Nampa Christian High School was reportedly on "soft" lockdown as the situation unfolded. That means students were free to roam the campus, but were not allowed to leave.
Orchard Avenue was also partially closed during the standoff.
