TWIN FALLS -- Two Mexican nationals, who had been living in Twin Falls, were arrested overnight after shooting at an Idaho State Police officer during a drug stop.

Idaho State Police say officers were attempting to arrest Carlos Taffola, 24, and Arcenio Sosa Solorio, 26, after finding 38 pounds of marijuana, two grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in their vehicle.

Officers were in the process of arresting Taffola and Arcenio in the Walmart parking lot around 3 a.m., when one of the men pulled out a pistol and shot at an officer. The officer was not hit or injured.

One of the men also tried to run from the officers, but was caught and arrested.

Both men were booked into the Twin Falls County Jail.

Police say the approximate value of the drugs seized is $75,000.
