BOISE -- A Boise man has died after being hit by a van Wednesday evening in northwest Boise.
The accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. near 36th and Anderson streets, just off West State Street.
The Ada County coroner has identified the deceased man as 44-year-old Kelly Summer. The cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma of the head and chest.
Police say Summer was trying to cross the road in the dark when he was hit by a van traveling south on 36th Street.
He was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise where he died about four hours later.
Police say Summer wasn't in a crosswalk at the time of the accident.
Boise police continue to investigate the death.
