BOISE -- Twenty of Idaho's firefighters will represent the Gem State during President Obama's inauguration day parade in Washington D.C. next week.

A pipes and drums band made up of firefighters from Boise, Meridian, Lewiston and Coeur d'Alene will play the songs "America the Beautiful" and "God Bless America."

Pipe Major Michael Menlove says the group, which came together at the last minute, has been trying to play as much as possible before the event.

"We have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time," Menlove said, adding "This is a big deal, in front of millions of people."

The President's inauguration parade is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Monday. You can watch it live on KTVB News Channel 7.
