BOISE -- A world champion pool player is in Boise Saturday to put on a show.
Stefano Pelinga will be at the Crescent No Lawyers Bar and Grill Saturday at 7 p.m. to strut his stuff.
The Italian started playing pool when he was 12 years old and said he quickly rose to be Italy's best player.
During the 1980s, he had a streak in straight pool where he made 189 shots in a row. That success pushed him to take his game to a new level.
"It was outrageous back in Europe at that time, so nobody wanted to play me," Pelinga said. "As a consequence I had to switch to trick shots where basically I didn't need an opponent. It was just between me and the table and the physics, geometry, the equipment, that's all."
The event is open to the public and admission is $5.
