CASCADE -- The mayor of Cascade is planning to expand the airport. The question now is, what will people do once they get there?

The people KTVB spoke to in Cascade said it is tourism and recreation that will help turn this community around economically, and help create jobs.

Tracy Osborn with Lake Cascade State Park said they put in dozens of new campsites because of the high demand.

Richele Rapp, who owns a recreational rental shop called Cya Sports, said her place is open year-round and she sees business improve every year since they opened a few years ago.

She said, regional airport or not, more tourism will help the entire community.

Cascade residents also said Lake Cascade is normally very quiet, especially if you compare it to Payette Lake.
