Idaho Legislature
Sen. John Goedde
BOISE -- Senator John Goedde sponsored a bill to sharply increase fines in Idaho for speeding in school zones.
But the Republican senator from Coeur d'Alene was caught doing exactly that on the same day his bill was being debated in the Senate.
He says he recognizes the irony of the situation and that he's going to be a lot more aware of looking at school signs.
Goedde was ticketed February 28th after traveling 32 mph in 20 mph school zone on Boise's busy Broadway Avenue where it goes by Garfield Elementary.
He was fined $141.50.
