Elected to the Idaho Senate in November of 2008 she was again elected to Legislative Council and appointed to serve on the Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee, ad the Education, and Judiciary Committees where she continued her work to make health insurance companies more accountable and build a seamless system of mental health and substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery support. Durring the economic downturn Nicole led efforts to oppose budget cuts that eliminated thousands of Idaho jobs and put at risk the security of seniors and Idahoans with disabilities.
