BOISE -- Hundreds of volunteers helped freshen up the paint and yards of several Treasure Valley homes Saturday morning.
Now in its 35th year, Paint the Town pairs local volunteers with elderly and disabled residents whose homes could benefit from a new coat of paint and a landscaped yard.
Emily Pohlman, the Director of Community Engagement for NeighborWorks Boise, said while the event is meant to provide these homeowners with a fresh look, they often get more out of the experience.
"[the homeowner] really appreciated having team members in her yard and in her home and people to visit with her and its really brightened her day."
