BOISE -- The Family Advocacy Center and Education Services (FACES) announced today they received two tele-medicine exam units and an assigned nursing staff for victims of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault crimes from St. Alphonsus.

These two units will allow victims to stay at the FACES location to be examined. It provides them with a quieter environment and less travel during this difficult time.

"They will be able to actually visually see the patient, talk to the patient and examine them in real time, and this will answer the questions as to whether or not they actually need to come to the emergency department," said Dr. Lee Bennion, Idaho Emergency Physicians.

By using the cameras mounted on the unit, victims can show the areas of concern to the physician at St. Al's.

It will be another month or so before the units will be up and working and ready for use.
