TWIN FALLS -- For the first time this year someone in Idaho has come down with West Nile fever.

The Department of Health and Welfare says a woman in her 40s from Twin Falls County tested positive for the virus, and became ill shortly after traveling to Valley County.

Because of the timing of her travel, the department doesn't know where the woman contracted the virus.  She has recovered from her illness.

This month, Ada, Canyon and Payette counties have reported West Nile virus in some local mosquito pools.

West Nile is usually contracted from the bite of an infected mosquito.
