BOISE -- The Idaho state-based health insurance exchange will be operational for next year and won’t be delayed, that’s according to Jody Olson, the exchange communications director.
There was a report from another media source that the state-based exchange would be delayed a year and Idahoans would have to use the federal exchange.
The fact is that Idaho is using some 'technology' from the federal exchange and that has been the plan since May.
The exchange is aimed at providing a way for people who don't currently have insurance to buy policies.
Officials say the state-based exchange will be operational on Oct. 1 and in compliance with state law, and Idahoans will be able to sign up for health insurance.
