FRUITLAND -- People in Payette County will soon have a hospital close to home.
St. Luke's broke ground today on its Fruitland Medical Plaza on Northwest 16th Street.
The $30 million project is expected to be complete by spring of 2014, with 35 new jobs.
The plaza will include a 24-hour emergency room and a walk-in clinic.
St. Luke's already operates a cancer treatment clinic in Fruitland. That clinic will be moved into the new medical plaza.
