Boise -- The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee has approved Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter's proposal to bump up the number of Idaho medical school students.
The state will pay $250,000 to offset out of state tuition for 5 more seats in med school -- in hopes of getting those med students back to the state as doctors in rural communities.
Idaho ranks 49th in the country in doctors per citizens, a problem lawmakers are taking seriously as evidenced by this approval.
