Help donate supplies to Haiti

MERIDIAN -- If you are looking for a way to help those in Haiti you can through Monday at one local church.

Capitol Christian Center is taking collections and the list of items needed is extensive.

That full list is posted below.

The downtown church is asking that all small donations be dropped in the bin at the church. However, larger donations can be dropped off during church hours.

The church is located at 2760 East Fairview Avenue in Meridian and is open Saturday 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.; Sunday 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.; and Monday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. The asterisks mean they are things that they do have on hand in Haiti but could use more of.

Needed items:

Powdered formula

 2-1,000 watt gasoline generators

Canned or jar spaghetti sauce

Pasta

NIV or NLT Bibles

Mac and cheese

Gatorade

Laundry detergent

Prenatal vitamins

Iron supplements

Full size sheet sets

Towels

Pregnancy Tests

Yeast infection cream

Baggies of all sizes

Tylenol

New born diapers/pampers/cloth diapers

New born clothes

Maternity clothes

Smock type dresses for after birth

Scrubs

Plastic sheets

Flip Flops

Bars of Soap

Toothpaste

Shampoo

White face cloths

Big plastic Tupperware bowls

Peanut butter

Protein bars/snack bars/granola bars

Fruit snacks

Individual serving/"lunch box" serving sizes of cookies, crackers, trail mix, etc.

Individual servings of Crystal Light, kool-aid, etc.

nuts: peanuts, cashews, almonds, etc.

Crackers

"easy cheese" (cheese in a can)

Packets of tuna (in the foil packs, not cans) and other similar non-refrigerated foods

Toilet paper

Paper towels

Disinfectant wipes (and a medical one here too---we could use more of the medical-grade disinfectant wipes)

Liquid hand soap and liquid body wash (like Softsoap brand)

Dishwashing liquid soap

Liquid laundry detergent (like Tide)

Blank DVDs (about 25)

Manila file folders

Stapler + staples

 

**Surgical scrub brushes

**Battery powered neb machine

**Crutches

Canes/walkers

Knee immobilizers

Ankle immobilizers ("air casts"/etc)

Casting/splinting materials (fiberglass/orthoglass/preform)

Cotton padding for under splints/casts

**Cast cutter

Finger traps for upper extremity ortho procedures

Penrose wound drains

IV filter needles

**IV fluids (NS, LR, D5 0.9NS, D5 0.2NS) + tubing

Anesthesia supplies (tubing/needles for doing axillary blocks)

**Portable pulse oximeter or other portable telemetry/pulse ox monitors

Adaptec or other non-adherent dressings

Powder oral rehydration packets (like individual servings of Gatorade or pedialyte)

Baby wipes

Baby diapers in all sizes but especially larger sizes (3, 4, 5, 6)

**Big blue plastic basins and emesis basins

**Disposible cautery (for example the devices we use to trephinate fingernails would work great)

**Disposible plastic urinals (for men)

**Urinary catheters and supplies

Scalpels

**Clipboards (priority)-for clinic charts (flat basic ones-nothing fancy)

Portable C-arm xray machine

IV Heplock tubing

IV saline flushes

Coban

**iSTAT machine to do basic chemistry panels

**Glucometer + HUNDREDS of glucose test strips PER glucometer

Otoscopes

 

**Tetanus immunizations

Premixed vials of Albuterol or Xopenex

Antibiotic eye drops
