Eagle Public Safety Building
EAGLE – The city of Eagle now has a place for its residents to dispose off expired and unused medications.
There is a green collection bin in the lobby of the Eagle Fire and Police Public Safety Building at 1119 East State Street, Suite 240/260. It is for residential use only.
Authorities say the medications may be bagged and liquid containers need to be in their original containers and sealed in plastic bags to prevent spills. Don’t leave items that won’t fit in the drop box chute. The medications can be prescription drugs or ones bought over-the-counter.
Items that are not accepted include needles, lancets, pen needles, aerosol cans, bloody or infections waste, hydrogen peroxide, thermometers and IV bags.
“By participating in this program, you will reduce the potential for medication mistakes and misuse in the community and protect our water quality,” said Eagle Police Chief Dana Borgquist.
Boise City Police, Meridian Police, Ada County Sheriff’s Office and Garden City Police also have a collection bin at their respective headquarters.
