EAGLE -- Summer is almost here! Kids might be happy to be done with school for a few months, but parents are often left searching for activities to keep them busy.
KTVB's Maggie O'Mara put together a list of fun things to do in the city of Eagle as part of Free Family Fun Week on Today's Morning News. Check them out below:
Eagle Field of Honor
The Eagle Field of Honor runs from May 20 to 30. Hundreds of American Flags will fly in rows honoring service members. It’s an amazing sight! The tribute ramps up on Memorial Day, on Memorial Day, with the Brave Hearts Band playing from noon to 3 p.m. Hot dogs and drinks will also be available.
Eagle Saturday Market
The Eagle Saturday Market runs every Saturday all summer long, wrapping up Oct. 14. Located in Heritage Park, the market can be a great place to check out local musicians, grab a bite to eat, and shop for fresh produce or crafts from the vendors.
The market opens at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
Cops and Bobbers
Don't miss this free fishing day with the Eagle Police Department, Idaho Fish and Game,the Ada County Sheriff Employees' Association, and other law enforcement officers! This year's event will be held Saturday, May 27 at Eagle Island State Park.
Cops and Bobbers is designed to teach kids to fish, while building healthy relationships between officers and the community. The fishing day will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids with alll levels of fishing experience are welcome to participate.
Eagle Fun Days - Family Fun Night
Family Fun Night kicks off the annual Eagle Fun Days, at the Eagle City Hall campus. This year's event, held Friday July 7, will include games, bounce houses and a dunk tank. All ages welcome!
Eagle Fun Days
The fun continues Saturday, July 8 with Eagle Fun Days. Kids and adults can take in the parade, check out a car show, play games and paricipate in the fun run!
Eagle Library Summer Read Club
Bookworms will love being a part of the Eagle Library's summer reading club. Kids can earn prizes and certificates by reporting on books they read. A wrap-up party to celebrate readers reaching their goals will be held in August.
Eagle Historical Museum
The Eagle Historical Museum offers free tours. It's a grat place to learn about the history of Eagle. The museum is located at 67 East State Street.
