A bold daytime robbery

CALDWELL -- A fast food employee was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning while trying to make a deposit at a Caldwell bank and now police are searching for his assailants.

This all went down at the ATM next to the front doors of the US Bank at 6th and Cleveland in Caldwell.

Caldwell Police Cpl. Chris Finley says two Jack-in-the-Box employees came sometime between 8 and 10 a.m. to make a deposit.

While a woman was trying to make the deposit an armed man in a mask approached her from behind and demanded the money.

She gave him the money and he then ran around the corner to a waiting maroon Ford Expedition and drove off.

"Whoever committed the crime is very brave. It’s possible that they were watching the Jack-in-the-Box employees and waiting for this to happen," said Finley.

We spoke with an assistant manager at Jack-in-the-Box at 10th and I-84 in Caldwell to get a response as to what happened, but they're declining to comment.

We do know that both the woman robbed and the male employee waiting in the car were not injured.

Both the gunman and his get away driver are facing felony charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Caldwell Police say the gunman is described as a white male 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10, with blond hair and a medium build.

He was reported as wearing a black stocking mask with a black hooded sweatshirt and pants.

The driver of the maroon Ford Expedition was described as a white male.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
