Softball coach pleads guilty to lesser charge

BOISE - A former high school softball coach accused of sexual battery of a minor pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.
The one time Centennial High School assistant softball coach and substitute teacher Lauren K. Palmer reached a plea agreement with prosecutors.
During her arraignment today Palmer plead guilty to a lesser charge of sexual contact with a minor.
In April, the Ada County Sheriff's Office charged Palmer with a felony after a deputy caught her in a car with a 16-year-old girl.
After questioning Palmer and the girl, the deputy determined inappropriate touching had occurred and arrested her.
Palmer is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
