Six Idahoans indicted in murder-for-hire, drug ring

BOISE – The U.S. Attorney for Idaho announced today that six Idahoans have been indicted by a federal grand jury for their involvement in a drug ring and murder for hire case.
All six defendants are from Pocatello. They are Robert David McCreery, Sr., 53, Robert David McCreery, Jr., 24, Beau Hansen, 24, Kristopher K. Converse, 22, Joey Eugene Roberts, 42, and Nancy Maldonado, 58.
McCreery, Sr., McCreery, Jr., Roberts, and Maldonado have been charged with conspiring to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
McCreery, Sr., and McCreery, Jr., are also charged with attempting to hire an undercover police officer to assault and murder a potential witness.
Hansen and Converse have been charged with assaulting a potential witness in the same case.
Federal prosecutors say if convicted, McCreery Sr., McCreery Jr., Roberts, and Maldonado could face up to life in prison.
Hansen and Converse face up to 30 years in prison.
“We take these offenses very seriously and intend to prosecute these individuals to the fullest extent possible. Intimidation of witnesses will not be tolerated,” said U.S. Attorney for Idaho Tom Moss.
Hansen is currently on the run from the law. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts should contact ISP at (208) 237-1210 or the U.S. Marshal at (208) 478-4186.
The indictments are part of an ongoing drug and firearms investigation conducted over several years by the ISP and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
