Man touching women in Boise stores
11:50 AM MDT on Thursday, August 16, 2007
BOISE -- Boise Police need your help to track down a man who is exposing himself and touching women in retail stores across the Treasure Valley.
Boise Police say since July 8th, there have been seven reports of this man exposing himself and even making physical contact with unsuspecting female customers.
They wouldn't comment on which stores the alleged crimes had taken place, but mentioned they were large retailers near the Boise Bench.
Police believe the man is following the women through the stores, unseen, until he makes physical contact or gets very close to them, which alerts the victims to the lewd behavior.
Police say the suspect could expose himself again and that is why they're relying on the public's help in identifying him.
"It may have happened to somebody, and it kind of freaked them out and they didn't know what to do, so they went home and thought, 'oh my gosh, that was weird.' But we really need people to report it, and obviously we need to have them report it immediately when it's happened," said Curt Crum, Boise Police Department.
Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned male - likely in his mid 20s. He has dark hair that comes to a slight widow's peak on his forehead. He has a medium build and is between 5 foot-7 and 5 foot-10. He also has some sort of a tattoo apparently on his right bicep.
Because the crimes involve sexual battery, the suspect faces felony charges.
If anyone has information about the suspect or these crimes, they are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
