BOISE -- Two men from the greater Boise region have been sentenced to federal prison after investigations by anti-gang prosecutors.

Twenty-year-old Sergio Villarreal was sentenced to four years in prison for possession of a stolen sawed-off shotgun.

He was arrested last year in Caldwell, and prosecutors said he was a member of the Eastside gang who helped to recruit new, young members.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jose Cartagena-Reyes was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for illegally re-entering the United States.

U.S. District Judge Edward Lodge says that after he completes his time he will again be deported to El Salvador.
