UPDATE: Attorney for Duncan charged with DUI, possessing pot

Boise attorney Thomas Monaghan is charged with DUI and other crimes in connection with an arrest early Sunday morning in Boise. Monaghan represents convicted killer Joseph Duncan
BOISE - The attorney for convicted killer Joseph Duncan is in some legal trouble of his own.
Thomas Monaghan is charged with four misdemeanors including driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as being involved in an accident that included damage to a vehicle.
Boise Police officers arrested him and booked him into the Ada County Jail early this morning. Officers pulled him over at 23rd and Main - after he ran over a curb and into some bushes.
"Officers conducted a sobriety test and he failed that test and was ultimately arrested for DUI," Boise Police lieutenant Doug Doney said. "During the time he was being investigated for the dui, they were able to locate also some marijuana and drug paraphernelia in the vehicle that belonged to him also."
Monaghan works as a federal public defender – and is currently one of several attorneys representing Duncan.
He bonded out of jail this morning.
