BOISE -- One man was hospitalized after a shooting on the Boise Bench Thursday morning.
Police say officers responded to a "shots fired" call at 9:59 a.m. to the 2300 block of Palouse Street, in the area of Vista Avenue and Overland Road.
By the time they arrived, however, the suspected shooter was gone. That person remains at large.
The victim was driven to a local hospital in a private car. He is expected to survive, police say.
One neighbor reported hearing four or five gunshots.
Investigators believe there was a fight at the house before the shooter fired multiple gunshots, then left the area with another suspect. The suspects are not believed to still be in the area of Palouse Street, and officers say there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood.
The suspects are described as white men driving an older-model silver two-door car. The car's passenger windows may be damaged or shot out, police say.
The suspects were last seen driving north on Columbus Street.
The road was blocked off with crime tape for about an hour but has since been reopened. Investigators are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS.
