2 arrested after Garden City shooting; victim critical

GARDEN CITY -- Two people were arrested Friday after a shooting the night before that left a man in critical condition, Garden City police said.

The shooting happened at 7:48 p.m. the intersection of West 39th and Stockton streets, just behind the fire station on Chinden Boulevard.

Police say they arrived on scene to find a 30-year-old man with a single gunshot wound lying in the street. The victim was rushed to a local hospital.

Investigators from multiple agencies obtained a felony aiding and abetting aggravated battery warrant for 27-year-old Elena Pena.

Investigators stopped Pena in a vehicle at around 1:30 p.m. Friday at Franklin and Curtis roads in Boise, and she was arrested without incident.

Lyle Corson, 34, of Nampa was detained on a felony parole board warrant and was booked into the Ada County Jail.

Police say they have identified the victim and the people who were with him.

The injured man has not been able to speak with detectives since the shooting. 

Police are still seeking persons of interest in the shooting.
