Guns, meth lands Boise man in prison

BOISE -- A Boise methamphetamine dealer was sentenced to nearly nine years in federal prison Tuesday.

Jeffery Anthony Arguello, 47, admitted to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of a firearm in August.

Federal prosecutors say Arguello had 61 grams of meth than he planned to sell to another person. Police also found a 16 gauge Winchester shotgun, a  a loaded JPC .40 caliber pistol and a loaded magazine in Arguello's bedroom during a search of his home in December.

As a convicted felon, Arguello was barred from possessing any firearm.

The defendant was ordered to spend 105 months on supervised release after his 105-month stint behind bars is finished.

The case was investigated by Boise Police, Meridian Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
