Earlier this year, Archer pleaded guilty to grand theft for stealing money from Producer's Livestock with the help of one of that company's employees. The employee admitted to writing Archer a check for $6,571.91 from her employer's account. Archer said he cashed the check and they split the money.

Archer resigned as a brand inspector May 2, the same day he was arrested.
