Boise police investigating attack as possible hate crime

BOISE - Police are searching for three suspects accused of assaulting a man and threatening him with a knife.

The attack happened just after 2 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of West Emerald Street and North Camelot Drive.

According to Boise police, three men flagged down the victim's car. When he got out, the men physically assaulted him and brandished a knife.

The suspects also made comments about the victim's national origin, investigators said. Detectives are looking into the possibility that the attack was a hate bias crime. Police tell KTVB the victim is of Middle Eastern descent.

He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for injuries and then released.
