Boise man accused of spitting on, kneeing officers

BOISE -- A Boise man is behind bars after police say he fought with two officers in a neighborhood on the Boise Bench Sunday morning.

Police were called out to the 1300 block of North Hartman Street at 8 a.m. for a report of a fight. The person who called police told officers that 26-year-old Richard Laguna had started a fight with another man, and was now fighting with that man's brother, 21-year-old Raymond Louis Romero.

By the time officers got to Hartman Street, both Romero and Laguna had already run away, police say. Officers found them nearby on Opohonga Street and ordered both men to stop.

According to Boise Police, Romero then began to physically fight with the officers, spitting in one officer's face and kneeing another in the groin.

Police say Laguna also resisted being taken into custody, Both men were arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Romero was charged with two felony counts of assault or battery on an officer, as well as a  misdemeanor resisting and obstructing. Laguna faces misdemeanor charges of disturbiung the peace and resisting and obstructing officers.
