BOISE -- Boise Police are asking for the public's help in locating a would-be purse snatcher.
Police tell us that a woman walking down an alley near 11th and Thatcher streets Monday morning was approached by a man who tried to grab her purse. The woman told police she punched the man and he ran away empty handed. She then called 911.
The incident happened around 8:38 a.m.
The woman injured her hand during the attack and was treated by paramedics.
Police say the suspect is a light skinned adult male, around 50 years old, very short hair, with a large goatee mustache and beard. He was wearing a black zip up jacket and blue jeans.
The woman said the suspect smelled strongly of alcohol.
