BOISE -- Boise Police say a suspicious death reported Thursday in southeast Boise is now a homicide.

One man is in custody, and police say his wife is the victim.

Police arrested 62-year-old Bruce Macomb of Boise. He is charged with first-degree murder.

The Ada County coroner says Bruce's 58-year-old wife Beba was strangled to death.

They say it happened at the couple's home on West Warren Street in Boise.

It was just before 4 p.m. Thursday that neighbors heard police sirens and then saw a storm of police cars arrive at the home.

Boise Police say Bruce exited the home as officers arrived and had an injury to his neck. As they came inside to investigate they found Beba's body. The coroner lists her time of death as 5 a.m. Thursday.

Detectives believe Bruce caused his wife's death and was sent to the hospital with a self-inflicted wound.

Neighbors told us they barely knew the couple, but that they have lived here for years.

"We have lived here for 20 years and I always walk the dog down that alley right there and not once, not once have I seen them," said neighbor Dan Garlock.

Bruce was taken to the hospital Thursday night for his injuries, and was booked into the Ada County Jail Friday morning after being released from the hospital.

Neighbors tell us they watched as police searched the home for evidence until midnight.  There is not much these neighbors knew about the Macombs. They told us Beba worked at Micron and Bruce was employed at the post office.

Bruce Macomb is expected to be arraigned on the murder charge next week.
