WEISER, Idaho -- Police say a woman is in jail after trying to stab and kill a man early Tuesday morning at a home on East Galloway Avenue in Weiser.

Weiser Police Chief Greg Moon says the suspect is 23-year-old Samantha Marie Davis from Weiser.

Police say Davis stabbed the man in the back with what appears to be a kitchen knife just after Midnight on January 1st.

Moon says the man who was stabbed was in serious condition at a Boise hospital Wednesday.

Officers say it appears alcohol was involved in the stabbing.

Davis was arraigned Wednesday on charges of attempted murder and felony domestic assault.

She's currently in the Washington County Jail.

A check through Idaho court records indicates Davis has numerous prior arrests and convictions. They include DUI, failure to purchase or possessing an invalid driver's license, misdemeanor battery, minor alcohol possession, and vandalizing property.
