NAMPA, Idaho -- Two Nampa men have been charged with multiple counts of burglary after police say they discovered multiple stolen items in their vehicle.
The incident started around 4:47 Saturday morning, when Nampa police received a call that there was a suspicious vehicle in the 600 block of W. Marshall. The citizen reported that they saw the vehicle driving with no lights on and a male subject trying doors on vehicles.
Officers stopped the vehicle on 7th St. S. near 8th Ave. S.
The two male occupants of the vehicle were identified as Justin L. Cuevas, 21, and Benigno Rocha Jr., 21, both of Nampa. Located in the vehicle were numerous items that had been stolen. Most of the property was returned to the owners at the scene of the traffic stop.
Cuevas and Rocha were charged with three counts of burglary. Cuevas was also charged with Possession of Marijuana.
Both men were taken to the Canyon County Jail.
Nampa Police wanted to remind people to keep their valuables safe and their vehicles locked up. They also noted that it was a citizen calling in suspicious behavior that helped them prevent more loss of property and encouraged others to report any suspicious behavior they might see.
