TWIN FALLS -- A Twin Falls man has been found guilty of shooting his brother.
The Times-News reports that a 5th District Court jury on Friday convicted 31-year-old Juan Roberto Jimenez of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon for shooting Jorge Alvarado on Feb. 9 in Twin Falls.
Jimenez says he acted in self-defense.
The jury also found Jimenez to be a persistent violator with three felony convictions.
In 2000 he was convicted of burglary, and in 2003 of grand theft by possession of stolen property.
Jimenez is also scheduled to go on trial in December on three counts of lewd and lascivious conduct after police say he raped a 14-year-old girl.
District Judge Randy Stoker revoked Jimenez's bond following the jury's verdict.
