TWIN FALLS -- A judge has postponed the trial of a southern Idaho man charged with first-degree murder in the death of a toddler.
The Times-News reports it's the third time the trial of 20-year-old Lane Alan Buddenhagen has been delayed. He was indicted by a Twin Falls County grand jury last year after prosecutors said he caused severe head trauma to a 3-year-old boy on Aug. 6, 2011.
The child, who was the son of Buddenhagen's ex-fiance, died the next day at a Boise hospital.
Buddenhagen told police the child had been taking a bath, and that he left the room and heard a loud sound, returning to find the toddler on the floor.
Buddenhagen is now set to stand trial on Oct. 15.
